July Trip - Fishing

Vanessa, Brandon, Gabrielle and I went fishing on the 4th of July. Gabrielle caught the first fish and it was the biggest of the day. She loved throwing her crackers out of the boat for the fish to eat.
My dad and brother went fishing several times during the trip. Gabrielle always welcomed them back ready to help. She was a great help holding the "meat" bag while Brandon cleaned the fish.

Catching Up

Where has the time gone? The Life of Fife has been busy over the past three months!

In April, I took a much needed break and visited Brandon, Tami and the girls in Utah before my Master's classes started again. It was fun spending Easter with children who get excited to find eggs! We tried a little potty training while I was there...we stopped shortly after.

Later on in the month, my brother Justin and his fiance Michelle came to visit. We went to the Tulip Festival and enjoyed the beautiful flowers!

May and June were full of school and work! It was a busy couple of months! I finished the hardest teaching year I have had and it felt good to finish in one piece. At the end of the year staff luncheon, I came in 2nd place for having the most difficult class. Many teachers came up to me and said I deserved 1st...I just hope that next year I will come in last place! I made some cute cupcakes for the luncheon...only problem is that nobody ate them because they didn't want to ruin them. I got the idea from the adorable book, Hello, Cupcake!

You'll have to tilt your head to view a couple corn pictures...not sure what is going on with my computer.

Ever after better get here! I'm on day number 10,260!

Shrek Memories

Vanessa and I went to see Shrek back in September. The play was in Seattle before it hit Broadway. I had no idea how it would be or how they would pull off the cartoon as a musical but it was AWESOME! I loved it all and laughed out loud...which doesn't usually happen to me.

I've been waiting (very patiently) for the soundtrack to come out. The wait is finally over. All the songs that I loved can now be replayed just for me anytime I want. There is one song in particular that I love and consider to be "my song"! I'll post a video of that next. It's called, 'I Know It's Today'. If you are ever in NYC, I suggest going to see Shrek the Musical.
It's Ogre-iffic!

Has it really been two months???

I'm not sure if anyone is still looking at my blog since I haven't posted anything in so long. There hasn't been a lot of blog worthy events to share. We had a great Christmas and had the biggest snow storm we've seen for a couple of decades. I had a good three weeks off from school since the storm hit before our vacation started. I stayed at my parents house since I'm not a big snow driver. The day after Christmas we went to visit my brother and his family in Heber, UT which was the highlight of my vacation. My nieces are getting so big and I enjoyed every second with them. They are just the cutest.

My mom came to visit about a month ago and ended up staying a lot longer than expected. Her back started hurting and kept getting worse to the point she needed emergency back surgery on Wednesday. It's a long story, but I'll just quote the surgeon by saying, "It was very bad!". We're glad she's home now recovering. I missed a few days of school and the kids had a few things to say about that...I've attached their journal entries since I got a kick out of them.
